The Greater World subdivision is located about 13 miles NW of Taos, New Mexico. It is a unique subdivision in that all the homes are earthships - homes that provide all of their utilities from nothing but the sunshine and rain that strikes the building.
The Greater World Land Users Code specifically prohibits outside utility hookups (i.e. there are no water lines, power lines, sewer lines, gas lines, etc). It also prohibits drilling water wells on your lot! We play hardball out here. If you want to be challenged at transforming a scarcity of resources into abundance, this is the place to do it! It's beautiful! It's simple!
This website is the voice of the members of the Greater World Land Users Association which is an unincorporated association in the state of New Mexico. It is the intention of the website administrator to publish meeting minutes, weather data, earthship performance data, news and commentary from members, lots of pictures of earthships and the people who live in them and contact information and bios of the members of the association!
